"URBN.SENI", the inaugural Triennale Malaysia-Singapore Cultural Showcase, will be celebrating collaborations between the two countries at The Godown KL with a few of music performances, visual art exhibitions, film, theatre and design. Featuring works by some of Singapore and Malaysia's emerging young talents.

 

"URBN.SENI" is organised by Singapore Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth with the support of the Singaporean Touring Board and Malaysia's Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.

YOUNG BLOOD | 16 Nov | 6:30 - 11:30pm

Performances organised by Young Blood, featuring talents from Singapore's and Malaysia's independent music scene, including electronic duo, .gif; R&B singer-songwriter, NYK; dream-poppers, Youth Portal; female bedroom producer, Shye; electronic pop songstress, SHN and garage rockers, The Fatalis.

URBAN SOUNDS | 17 Nov | 6:30 - 11:30pm

An evening of urban contemporary sounds, Urban Sounds features the sounds of hip-hop stars, such as SonaOne, ALIF, Fariz Jabba and Yung Raja; neo-soul singer-songwriter Charlie Lim; R&B singer songwriter, Shelhiel; moth rockers, Playburst and indie poppers, Shuuna.

ART RESIDENCY + SHOWCASE EXHIBITION | 16 - 24 Nov | 11am - 7pm

The Godown's open air building will feature collaborative works produced during an artist residency programme hosted by the National Art Gallery (Balai Seni Negara), by young artists from Singapore and Malaysia.

The Godown's main hall will screen some of Singapore and Malaysia's best independent films and filmmakers, like Zombiepura, directed by Jacen Tan and Bunohan, directed by Dain Said.

THEATRE | MISSING (SG) & STEREO GENMAI (MY) | 21 & 22 Nov | 8 - 11pm

Taking up the main hall over the two days will be Singapore's and Malaysia's finest theatre productions including, Missing (SG), directed by K. Rajagopal, of a performance starring Neo Swee Lin about a young girl growin up in the 70s and her relationship with her family and Siva, their Indian chauffeur. Co-produced by Keng Hua and Lim Yu Beng, adapted by Rajagopal and Kaylene Tan; and Stereo Genmai (MY), directed by Ridhwan Saidi, based on an adventure of K.M. Raslan in search of his lost fictional character, "D."

MIXING IT UP | 16 & 17 Nov | 5:30 - 11:30pm

Pop-up by star bartender CK Kho of Coley, with guest mixologist Jayden Ong and Sharmaine Sie of Singaporean bar, "Nutmeg and Clove", accompanied by bar bites by chef Chester Low (aka The Salted Chef).

A TALE OF TWO CITIES | 17 Nov | 5:30 - 11:30pm

After establishing himself as chef at Singapore's Tippling Club, Chef Nicholas Scorpion is starting a new chapter in Malaysia, with Jing Ze. A restaurant that transforms traditional Southeast Asian flavours into modern dishes of today. Chef Scorpion will be serving a menu specially created for URBN.SENI.

BURGERS AND BEANS | 23 & 24 Nov |11am - 7pm

Burgers and Beans will offer creative bites for all. The pop-up will consist of modern burgers and fries with a Singaporean spin by Quarters, and coffee by PPP Coffee throughout the Maker's Market.

MARKET | MAKER'S MARKET BY NAIISE | 23 & 24 Nov | 11am - 7pm

Stop by this curated market by Singaporean design label Naiise, which will feature 20 creative makers and brands from both Singapore and Malaysia. Including, Seniman Kakao and Hometoomuch and other artisanal brands. Don't miss out on workshops led by Naiise and co-working space, A Space To _.
